About us
The Governance Hub, Charity Commission and Volunteering England have come together to run the Get on Board campaign. Get on Board sets out to raise the profile of trusteeship, bringing in a new generation of trustees to fill the many vacancies on boards across the country.
Governance Hub
The Governance Hub exists to promote trusteeship and enable good governance
throughout England. It is a partnership of eight organisations that provide
support to the voluntary and community sector. The Hub is funded by Capacity
Builders as part of the Government’s ChangeUp programme to build
capacity in the sector.
Charity Commission
The Charity Commission
is the independent regulator and registrar for charities in England and
Wales. Its aim is to provide the best possible regulation in England and
Wales in order to increase charities’ effectiveness as well as public
confidence and trust.
Volunteering England
Volunteering England is the national volunteer development organisation
for England. It works across the voluntary, public and private sectors
to raise the profile of volunteering as a powerful force for change.
It supports an England-wide network of quality Volunteer Centres, which
promote and enable volunteering and community involvement.
"Alka Prabhakar’s been a trustee with us for sixteen years, bringing her arts marketing experience to the board. This has been invaluable when recruiting paid operational staff like marketing officers; she understands where our greatest needs lie. Alka’s regular job is to bring in audiences for Sheffield’s theatres, and for her to share her experience with us in London adds massive value."
